Thursday, November 20, 2025, 12:30-1:30pm

East Basement Seminar Room
In-person only, open to the IFA community

Join us to explore the space where culture, commerce, and creativity intersect in today's evolving landscape with Thomaï Serdari, Clinical Associate Professor of Marketing at the NYU Leonard N. Stern School of Business and Academic Director of the Luxury & Retail MBA. Drawing from her extensive work at the crossroads of art history, business strategy, and brand development, Serdari will guide us through the fascinating dynamics of how creative work finds its place in the market, and how market forces, in turn, shape creative expression. Serdari’s interdisciplinary approach will expand your perspective on the complexity of art and commerce in dialogue.

Thomaï Serdari is a strategist in luxury marketing and branding and Clinical Associate Professor of Marketing at the Stern School of Business, where she developed the core curriculum for the Luxury & Retail MBA. Originally trained as an architect at the National Technical University of Athens, she received her PhD from The Institute of Fine Arts (2005) and her MBA from Stern (2009). Serdari contributes regularly to Luxury Daily, VOGUE Business, The New York Times, and Le Monde, and serves as editor of the academic journal Luxury: History, Culture, Consumption published by Taylor & Francis. She is the author of Rethinking Luxury Fashion: The Role of Cultural Intelligence in Creative Strategy, as well as several book chapters and business journal articles.
